Mechanical & Piping
Integrated mechanical and piping solutions, designed for constructability, reliability, and efficiency.
Our Mechanical & Piping team specialises in the design, analysis, and delivery of piping systems for complex energy projects. With a strong foundation in construction and operations, we bring a practical, fit-for-purpose approach to every design—ensuring constructability, maintainability, and long-term reliability.
We support both brownfield and greenfield projects across the oil & gas sector and the energy transition space, working from concept design through to detailed engineering and site support.
Our expertise includes:
- Piping Design & 3D Modelling
Development of fully integrated piping models using Autodesk Plant 3D and Aveva E3D, supported by site-based laser scanning and point cloud generation.- Full modelling lifecycle: greymodelling through to detailed design
- Structured model reviews at 30%, 60%, and 90% design maturity
- In-house administration capabilities for both Plant 3D and E3D, including the development of custom pipe specifications
- Design Deliverables
Production of accurate and constructible documentation, including:- Isometric drawings and fabrication deliverables
- Tie-in drawings, general arrangement (GA) layouts, and piping plans
- Line lists, valve lists, and material take-offs (MTOs)
- Pipe Stress Analysis
Analysis of piping flexibility and code compliance using Caesar II, accounting for thermal, pressure, dead weight, and dynamic loading conditions. - Equipment Specification
Specification and layout integration of mechanical equipment—such as pumps, vessels, exchangers, and packaged systems—in close collaboration with the process engineering team. - Construction-Driven Design
Our deep experience in plant operations and construction feeds directly into our design philosophy, helping to optimise layout, simplify tie-ins, and minimise site rework. - Visualisation & Coordination
Use of Navisworks to support project communication, model navigation, and design reviews, aiding multi-discipline coordination and stakeholder engagement.
With a strong emphasis on practical engineering, integrated design tools, and construction-ready solutions, our Mechanical & Piping team delivers dependable, efficient systems for the evolving energy industry.
