Context

A mainland Europe terminal operator with a post-acquisition review of a terminal with 15-berth facility. A cross-discipline team delivered a detailed work schedule and cost estimate to guide the site to commissioning.

Challenge

A terminal operator in mainland Europe engaged InSite to review the scope of work outlined by a third-party project management company for a recently acquired terminal comprising of 15 berths. This assignment followed an earlier pre-acquisition due diligence review also conducted by InSite. The client required a clear assessment of the work needed to bring the facility to commissioning, including a reliable cost estimate. InSite was asked to evaluate the existing documentation, visit the site, and define the extent of work necessary across engineering disciplines.

Solution

InSite provided a cross-discipline team of experienced engineers from EC&I, Mechanical & Piping, and Civil & Structural departments. The team reviewed the documentation hosted on the client’s SharePoint, conducted a site visit, and developed a detailed understanding of the facility’s needs. InSite delivered a comprehensive report and a discipline-specific schedule of required activities. In a subsequent phase, the team produced a thorough cost estimate, outlining time, materials, and engineering effort needed to reach commissioning. Close collaboration with the client and the depth of InSite’s expertise enabled the project review to be completed efficiently and to a high standard.
