Context

InSite supported a UK refinery with pressure relief studies, supplying a tailored team to work alongside client personnel and deliver a schedule-critical study with follow-on engineering continuity.

Challenge

An oil refinery based in the United Kingdom required support to complete an in-house relief study on all pressure safety valves relieving to the flare systems. The work was schedule-critical and required the right mix of experience to ensure accurate assessments and timely completion.

Solution

InSite supplied a team of process engineers to work on site as integrated members of the relief study team, working alongside client personnel. The team was carefully selected to provide the optimum mix of experience. A relief calculation and datasheet template was developed in collaboration with the client. Additional personnel were added as required, to ensure the study was completed on schedule.

The relief study identified several valves requiring remediation, to be captured in the capital budget plan. InSite’s project engineering team subsequently completed the remediation scope, providing continuity of care and delivering several benefits to the client.
